The story of SCAIME is a human adventure in which the commitment of each individual and the quest for innovation have enabled the company to become a major player in the field of industrial weighing and measurement.

It all began modestly, with the production of load cells for three French scale manufacturers. At the time, no one could have foreseen the path that lay ahead for this fledgling company. SCAIME soon realized that to thrive, it needed to look beyond domestic borders, paving the way for international expansion.

Over time, the company also broadened its horizons, strengthening its ability to innovate and meet the technological needs of its customers. SCAIME has specialized in weighing systems for factory automation, and has developed new industrial measurement solutions for demanding sectors such as aeronautics and medicine.

However, SCAIME's real capital lies in its human relations. Our employees have always been at the heart of our success, testifying to our ability to evolve with the times and our dedication to our customers.

The next stage of our adventure is promising, and we are ready to take on new challenges thanks to our values and our employees.

Belonging to the same group, scale manufacturers TESTUT, TRAYVOU and TERRAILLON decided to group together the manufacture of load cells, essential components of a weighing instrument. This decision was taken in 1983 with the creation of SCAIME in Juvigny, whose mission was to supply all load cells to the group's companies. Business starts at the Terraillon site, in a 700 m2 facility, with 25 people from Terraillon and Testut.

Creation of SCAIME, Société de Conception et d’Application d’Instruments de Mesure Electronique (Company of design and application of electronic measuring instruments).

First-year sales of €2 million.

• 1986

Creation of a sales department to develop a customer base outside the Group. Launch of numerous new products, compatible with international standards.

• 1988

Relocation to new 3,500 m2 facilities. These facilities bring together all the company's commercial, industrial and administrative activities.

• 1991

51% of sales are with non-Group customers.

• 1998

SCAIME obtains ISO 9002 certification for its quality system. To support its expansion, SCAIME enlarges its industrial facilities to 4300 m2.

• 2000

SCAIME is acquired by FOOK TIN, the company's current shareholder. This Hong Kong-based manufacturer specializes in consumer products and has a factory in SHENZHEN (China).

• 2001

SCAIME builds a 160 m2 clean room for its strain gage production.

• 2002

SCAIME obtains ISO 9001 quality certification, focusing on customer satisfaction.

• 2007

Continued innovation policy: SCAIME develops skills in electronics and software to offer innovative new products in the field of mechatronics.

• 2009

SCAIME opens a sales office in China.

• 2010

Start-up of a new fiber optic stress measurement business.

• 2012

Significant growth in the weighing activity, thanks in particular to the renewal of the range of digital controllers and load cells.

• 2014

EN 9100 quality certification for the aerospace industry, enabling SCAIME to supply force transducers to several aircraft OEMs.

• 2017

SCAIME continues its international expansion with the opening of a sales office in Germany. SCAIME invests in renovating its production facilities and offices.

• 2020

SCAIME is weathering the health crisis by adapting its working methods ( teleworking, digitalization). Continued investment with the purchase of a strain gage laser fitting machine.

• 2022

Growth of 10% for the 2nd year running.

SCAIME exports over 50% of its products and sales exceed €16 million.

SCAIME is what it is today thanks to the people who bring it to life every day: its employees.

In recognition of this, a team representing each sector of the company took their wishes into account to make this 40th anniversary a memorable and lasting experience.

Three key events punctuated the end of 2023, with the aim of sharing, passing on, surprising, uniting, remembering and entertaining...

To kick off the festivities, SCAIME opened its doors to employees' families. Around a hundred people were able to discover the different departments as well as the production tools, attend wiring demonstrations by operators as well as real-life applications of our products, and view films on the White Room and Bonding manufacturing processes.  

At the end of the visit, a country-style meal and inflatable games awaited young and old, until nightfall.

The employees met outside the walls, in Aix-les-bains to be exact, on the shores of Lac du Bourget, to experience a day of Team Building together, far from everything!

• Koh Lanta by team... Each team took part in the terrible test of the masts, at the end of which the Totem was won!
• Gastronomic picnic and impromptu swim
• Building and racing cardboard rafts on the lake... A unique moment, where teamwork, trust and challenge took on a whole new dimension...
